August 2005 • 13cm x 13cm
Part of a triptych with 'The Flood' and 'River of Fire', it was also made into a series of cards.
'Last Call for Chaos' is notable for as much it's name as anything else. It was conceived of as an artistic excercise to draw three (or possibly four at the time) dense illustrations to form a set. A fourth was never done, but the three were completed in August of 2005 and made a nice set together. The title, 'Last Call for Chaos' was a nod to the idea that I was planning on embarking on a newer style, experimenting with order and repetition. As such, this triptych was, in fact, the last call for chaos and chaotic disorder. After this set was completed, work was begun on the first of many works using patterning and order.
'Last Call for Chaos' was drawn as a single drawing with no revisions, then scanned, coloured and texturized in Photoshop. The original sketch was presented to Lori Lafontaine.
