Part of a triptych with 'Last Call for Chaos' and 'River of Fire', 'The Flood' was also made into a series of cards.
'The Flood' is remarkable because it one of the first uses of a specific, discernable narrative in the illustration. The fact that it's titled 'The Flood' makes it clear that the subject is one event illustrated by the characters depicted. While the entire narrative might not be clear, it shows the introduction of those elements into the work.
'The Flood' was drawn as a single drawing with no revisions, then scanned, coloured and texturized in Photoshop. The original sketch was presented to Joelle Crook.
