Snow Sculpture Invitation

Not technically a design project, but it is a reminder of a design project from our past which is worthy of remembrance

Most people who know Jeffco know we did snow sculptures, first in high school, then later again after university. We did a lot of them, and a lot of them were really good. We’re all still quite proud of our work with Ottawa’s Winterlude snow sculpture competition. Well, apparently, other people also liked our work, because this weekend I received an invitation from South Korea to compete in a snow art sculpture festival there. It comes with an offer of free airfare, accommodation and payment, but even still, after some thought, we’ve decided to turn it down. There were many reasons of course, but one being that we’ve been retired from sculpting for five years now. It’s an enormous honour to be asked, and I certainly hope all of my teammates feel a tremendous sense of pride about our work.
