Finding old records (especially Christmas records) is something we at Jeffco Productions do year-round. We’ve posted some of the best on our site, and on a Tumblr Blog called Thrift Store LPs. Here are the latest ten additions:

  1. I was lucky enough to discover your site in December 2011 when you were still sharing the albums as mp3. I downloaded 33 LPs (using wget!) and am very glad I did, as the next year you were no longer making them available for download.

Please consider making obscure long out of copyright and otherwise unencumbered recordings available to download again – they have brought my family and I much joy over the 2011, 2012, and now the 2013 Christmas season.

What was the name of the charity that you asked anyone downloading your shares to donate to? I was unable to contribute at the time but would like to this year.

By the way, the album I was searching for when I discovered your site in 2011 was Tijuana Christmas, with the song Christmas Bells, and the cover with a sombrero, scarf, and mitten-wearing trumpeter covered with a light dusting of snow. So good, and still one of my favourites.

Have a great Christmas 2013, and thanks for the music!

  2. Yes, sorry, the times have changed, no longer comfortable offering things for download online since they’re really cracking down. It’s a pity though because I always considered it rescuing these albums from thrift store bins, not stealing. I didn’t upload stuff that was readily available, but as I say, I think that matters less now. Better to be safe I figure. I would love to, but I’m not willing to risk it.

I forget what charity I mentioned but it was most likely I support several, but this is a wonderful way to loan to small businesses around the world. We at Jeffco Productions also have a Kiva lending group which you can join (it’s really just for fun). We’re a small group but we have an impressive record of helping. You can join us here if you’re interested:

There sure are a lot of Tijuana Christmases. I don’t really get it, but that doesn’t mean they’re not all enjoyable!

  3. PS. Lots more LPs coming soon. Just spent the weekend in Toronto gathering plenty more. Hopefully the covers will do for now 😉
