A little context. Every year I have a big Christmas party at my house and all kinds of kids are here, so I try to make the basement an interesting play room for them, and this year I decided to have a chess table for them. I wasn’t sure chess was going to be all that popular when I made that decision in July, but apparently timing has worked out perfectly in that many of the kids have gotten into it. Hopefully it will be appreciated then! The chess pieces were bought, the table was made, and the chairs are from IKEA and customized with stickers for the black and white king icon. The table is 48 inches across and the chairs are kid-sized. I’m hoping it will see lots of good fun at the party and in years to come.
